Pierced Berry Bowl

$150.00
Sold Out

Pierced pottery has been used in numerous forms of art from different cultures. My inspiration for my work comes from barro negro (black clay,) from Oaxaca and papel picado, or otherwise known as pierced paper, common in Mexican art for Dia de Los Muertos.

In this 4 hour workshop you will build a bowl from a slab and coil, then use a technique to carve and remove clay from the bowl to reveal your beautiful design. It’s a good idea to come with an idea of what you want to carve. Keep the theme simple due to the amount of time we have. You’ll be surprised how quickly time flies when you’re having fun!

During the class there will be a 30 minute break to give our bowls time to dry for the carving process. You can explore Industry City’s perks and get a snack or beverage. There’s lots to explore while you’re here.

This class is for adults only. No experience is needed, just good energy!
